The National Weather Service is prediciting a major snow storm for the region Saturday night into Sunday. With the concern for the safety of our passengers and crew we will operate on the following schedule:

 

Saturday, Feb 14- all trains will operate EXCEPT train 698 and 699- these trains are cancelled.

Sunday, Feb 15- ONLY southbound trains 692 & 694 and northbound trains 695 & 697 will operate. ALL OTHER TRAINS ARE CANCELLED

Due to the severe winter weather expected to impact the New England region this weekend, the Amtrak Downeaster (Boston - Brunswick, Maine) has the following adjustments:

• On Saturday, Feb. 14, all service will operate except Downeaster Trains 698 and 699.
• On Sunday, Feb. 15, Downeaster trains 690, 691, 693, 696, 698 and 699 will be canceled. Trains 692 and 695 will operate between Boston and Brunswick, Maine, serving all stations, and trains 694 and 697 will operate between Boston and Portland, Maine, serving all stations.

Amtrak regrets any inconvenience. This information is correct as of the above time and date. Information is subject to change as conditions warrant.

 

Passengers with travel plans can confirm their train's status, change their plans or review refund information using a range of tools – including Amtrak.com, smartphone apps or by calling 800-USA-RAIL. Service Alerts, Passenger Notices and other announcements are posted at Amtrak.com/alerts.

All Amtrak Downeaster Service between Boston (North Station) and Brunswick, Maine, is canceled for Sunday, Feb. 15, due to forecasted severe winter weather with significant additional snow accumulations. No alternate transportation is available.Other Amtrak trains are planned to operate to and from south and west of Boston (South Station) on Sunday, Feb. 15.Amtrak regrets any inconvenience. Saturday, Feb 15 - 3:15pm

 

Another blizzard is forecast for most of the Downeaster service area - with safety of our passengers and crews the utmost importance, we have cancelled all trains for Sunday, February 15th.

 

We anticipate to resume normal service Monday, Feb. 16. We will continue to update the status of the railroad here on our website.

All train will operate today on a Weekend schedule for today.  Please allow for longer trip times as trains may experience delays due to snow related issues with the railraod.

Passengers are urged to check the status of their train by using the "Train Status" tab on the home page.
