    Is a light-rail line back on for Sacramento?  

 

 

 

An absent voter wants to be counted. In late August, the Sacramento Regional Transit board rejected a proposal for a rail line over the Tower Bridge. Citrus Heights representative Steve Miller, however, was not there for the vote, and he is leaning towards approving the line.

   Sacramento and West Sacramento are trying again to build a rail line over Tower Bridge 

 

 

 

Weeks after the Sacramento Regional Transit board voted down a $130 million proposal for a passenger rail line over Tower Bridge, the agency board is scheduled for a redo of that vote this week, a surprise move, according to some board members.

   Officials feel better about revised streetcar plan in Sacramento, Calif.  

 

With a new plan on the table, the cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento seem ready to move ahead with a new streetcar line.

 

An alignment was narrowly approved back in the spring. It was a 1.5-mile route that cut through 3rd street and had just one stop between Sutter Health Park and the Sacramento Valley Station. Officials, however, had reservations about the line.
