Track Work Affects Trains Traveling Through Richmond, VA


Effective April 22 and 23, 2018

 

CSX Transportation will perform signal work on the railroad causing 45 to 120-minute delays for all trains arriving and departing Richmond Staples Mill station. Amtrak service will be affected on the dates shown below:


 

Sunday, April 22
  • Train 65 will terminate at Washington, with no alternate transportation provided between Washington and Newport News.

  • Train 66 will originate at Washington with no alternate transportation provided between Newport News and Washington.

  • Train 79 will originate at Rocky Mount with no alternate transportation provided between New York and Rocky Mount.

  • Train 80 will terminate at Rocky Mount with no alternate transportation provided between Rocky Mount and New York.

  • Trains 87 and 195 will terminate at Washington with no alternate transportation provided between Washington and Richmond.

  • Trains 89 and 90 will operate between New York and Washington, only. Trains are cancelled between Washington and Savannah with no alternate transportation provided.

  • Train 96 will originate at Richmond, with no alternate transportation provided between Newport News and Richmond.

  • All other trains will operate normally.


Monday, April 23
  • Trains 86 and 174 will originate at Washington with no alternate transportation provided between Richmond and Washington.

  • All other trains will operate normally.


Delays

 

Silver Meteor, Silver Star, Auto Train, Palmetto, Northeast Regional and Carolinian trains are subject to a 45 to 120-minute delay on these dates.

CSX Transportation will perform track and signal work on the railroad causing 30 to 60-minute delays for all trains arriving and departing Richmond Staples Mill station. Amtrak service will be affected on the dates shown below:


 

Sunday, June 10
  • Train 65 will terminate at Richmond Staples Mill station, with no alternate transportation provided between Richmond Staples Mill and Newport News.

  • Train 66 will originate at Richmond Staples Mill with no alternate transportation provided between Newport News and Richmond Staples Mill.

  • Trains 79 and 80 will operate between Rocky Mount and Charlotte, only. No alternate transportation will be provided between New York and Rocky Mount.

  • Train 87 will terminate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation provided between Washington, D.C. and Richmond Staples Mill.

  • Trains 89 and 90 will operate between New York and Washington, D.C., only. Trains are cancelled between Washington, D.C. and Savannah, with no alternate transportation provided.

  • Train 92 will operate between Miami and Jacksonville, only. No alternate transportation will be provided between Jacksonville and New York.

  • All other trains will operate normally.    


Monday, June 11
  • Train 66 will originate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation between Newport News and Washington, D.C.

  • Trains 67 and 93 will terminate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation between Washington, D.C. and Newport News.

  • Trains 79 and 80 will operate between Rocky Mount and Charlotte, only. No alternate transportation will be provided between New York and Rocky Mount.

  • Train 85 will terminate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation provided between Washington, D.C. and Richmond Staples Mill.

  • Trains 89 and 90 will operate between New York and Washington, D.C., only. No alternate transportation will be provided between Washington, D.C. and Savannah.

  • Train 91 is cancelled between Jacksonville and New York with no alternate transportation provided.

  • Train 94 will originate at Richmond Staples Mill with no alternate transportation between Newport News and Richmond Staples Mill.

  • Train 174 will originate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation between Richmond Staples Mill and Washington, D.C.

  • All other trains will operate normally.


Tuesday, June 12
  • Trains 66 will originate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation between Newport News and Washington, D.C.

  • Train 67 will terminate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation between Washington, D.C. and Newport News.

  • Train 86 and 174 will originate at Washington, D.C. with no alternate transportation between Richmond Staples Mill and Washington, D.C.

  • Train 91 will originate at Jacksonville and operate between Jacksonville and Miami, only.

  • All other trains will operate normally.

Trains 91 and 92 will not offer sleeping car accommodations or checked baggage service on the above dates.
