PROJECT UPDATE: University Link Extension
Construction progress on the east side of the Capitol Hill Station’s pedestrian concourse
Capitol Hill Station’s Red Wall to come down spring and summer 2015
As early as March, portions of the Red Wall will start to be removed in order for Sound Transit’s contractor to start restoring the area around the construction site. This work includes installation of utilities, irrigation, landscaping and paving. Wall removal will happen in stages and last through late summer. Occasional sidewalk and lane closures will be required to safely complete the restoration. Be sure to sign-up for Capitol Hill Station project updates to receive construction alerts as work proceeds in the area.
Writing the City: Link light rail Edition
Sound Transit and Hugo House partnered to present a series of essays from local writers about the communities, business, lives and dreams that are linked by light rail. Essays are available at the Red Wall or online at the Red Wall Blog.
Help improve connections between buses and light rail when University Link opens
Starting in 2016, Sound Transit's University Link light rail extension will connect the University District with Capitol Hill, downtown Seattle, Rainier Valley, and Sea-Tac Airport. King County Metro and Sound Transit are thinking about ways to connect the new light rail service with buses to make an efficient network of service. Look for updates and opportunities to give feedback (http://metro.kingcou...nk-connections/).
