Alaska Railroad train gets stuck in snow slide near Talkeetna

 

ANCHORAGE - A southbound freight train belonging to the Alaska Railroad was caught in a snow slide north of Talkeetna Wednesday morning, an Alaska Railroad official said.

 

Tim Sullivan, manager of external affairs for the Alaska Railroad, said the snow slide happened at about 7 a.m. Wednesday near the railroad's milepost 247.

 

"We sent crews up to relieve the crew, get them back to Talkeetna, get them home and we were able to move the locomotive engines out of that area," Sullivan said.
