San Joaquin Trains 703 and 718: Track Work Affects Service between Merced, Madera and Fresno
Effective Sundays through Thursdays Only, March 15 - 19, 2015 and March 22 - 26, 2015Track work being performed by BNSF Railway, will affect San Joaquin service, on the dates shown below:
Southbound Train 718Train 718, which normally operates between Oakland and Bakersfield, will operate from Oakland to Merced, where passengers will detrain and board a bus from Merced to Fresno. At Fresno, passengers will transfer to a different train that will operate according to Train 718's normal route to Bakersfield.
Train 718 will depart Fresno 20 minutes later than the published schedule, and operate 20 minutes later at all remaining stations on the route, arriving Bakersfield at 12:16 am the next morning. The connecting bus to Los Angeles will depart at 12:19 am.
Northbound Train 703Train 703, which normally operates between Bakersfield and Sacramento, will operate from Bakersfield to Fresno, where passengers will detrain and board a bus from Fresno to Merced. At Merced, passengers will transfer to a different train that will operate according to Train 703's normal route to Sacramento.
Train 703 will depart Merced at 9:44 pm, 29 minutes later than the published schedule, and operate 29 minutes later at all remaining stations on the route. Additionally, San Francisco Bus 3403 will wait for Train 703 at Stockton.
Madera Service Temporarily CanceledTrains 703 and 718 will not stop at Madera on the track work dates. Passengers may make reservations aboard other San Joaquin trains serving Madera.
San Joaquin Service: Possible DelaysAll San Joaquin trains may encounter delays of up to 15 minutes on track work dates.
