West of 5 Points Station November 20th Dome Implosion
Rail Service replaced with BUS SHUTTLE service until
Trains can safely operate on West Line
The Georgia Dome implosion will take place on Monday, November 20 at 7:30am.
The safety and well-being of our customers is MARTA’s number one priority. Due to the magnitude of this implosion, MARTA will suspend normal rail service west of the Five Points Station on Monday, November 20.
Rail service west of Five Points will be suspended from the beginning of service, until MARTA has confirmed the trains can safely operate on the west line.
There will be no rail service for the following stations; H.E. Holmes, Bankhead, West Lake, Ashby, Vine City, and Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center. Please note that Vine City and Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center stations will be closed until after the implosion when rail service begins.
Rail Service will be replaced with Shuttle Bus Service for Customers who use the West line.
Shuttle Bus Service will connect customers at H.E. Holmes, West Lake, Ashby and Bankhead stations to and from Five Points. This shuttle service will begin at 4:30am.
Three color coded Shuttle Bus Routes (Green, Blue, and Purple) will be used on Monday November 20th to support customers riding the West Line.(See map below)

The Green Line rail service will be replaced by the Green Line Bus Shuttle serving Bankhead, Ashby, with a transfer stop for the Blue Line on Martin Luther King Dr. NW near Walmart, and Five Points with a frequency of 10 minutes.
The Blue Line rail service west of Five Points will be replaced by the Blue Line Bus Shuttle serving H.E. Holmes, West Lake, with a transfer stop for the Green Line on Martin Luther King Dr. NW near the Walmart and Five Points with a frequency of 10 minutes.
Purple Shuttle Bus will be an express from H.E. Holmes to Five Points via I-20 with a frequency of 5 to 7 minutes.
Blue Line rail service east of Five Points will run every 10 minutes. There will be NO GREEN LINE rail service until after the implosion when normal rail service continues.
Red and Gold line service will operate on regular weekday schedules.
Listen for station announcements in Five Points, Georgia State and King Memorial stations for platform changes due to the special Blue Line service.
