This interesting gathering will be a study of all three of New Jersey's light rail lines: the RiverLINE, Newark City Subway, and Hudson-Bergen LRT. We also will ride the heavy rail lines PATCO and PATH in their entirety. Although this fest is dedicated to New Jersey, it will start in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and end in New York, New York. We will essentially ride from Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia to Herald Square in New York City. The trip will take about 10 hours to complete. To bridge the gap between South Jersey and North Jersey, we will ride the NJ TRANSIT Northeast Corridor Line.

The homepage for this fest is here. It includes lists of transit and commuter routes, restaurant and hotel guides, a list of scanner frequencies, links to the websites of transit providers in both metropolitan areas, our itinerary, a listing of projected costs, and our guest list.

Incidentally, although the itinerary has been available online for some time, you should check it out as it has been upgraded recently. Now that it is known that the new spur of the Newark City Subway will not yet be open at the time of this fest, this portion has been removed, and everything after it has been moved up about 40-45 minutes or so. Also, since the new timetable is now available showing Hudson-Bergen LRT service to Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen as well as service on the track connection that bypasses Hoboken, this portion of the itinerary has been updated as well.

Please let me know whether you will be attending, so I can begin to put together the list of participants.

Hope to see you on our next outing on Saturday, March 18th! :)
