Cascade regional trains between Seattle and Portland are getting a schedule tweak.  Some trains leaving at different times and all trains having ten minutes shaved off their arrival times due to lessening of track work for the summer.  No mention of the Nisqually bypass.  Seems like that one is taking forever--what else is new??

From the Chronicle (Centralia) via the Seattle Times.

Usually, summer is the time they do the trackwork and thus cause delays.  So having faster trips over the summer will be a treat.

As of tonight, the only schedule change showing on Amtrak's website for this month is the Pacific Surfliners, which normally undergo a few shifts for the Del Mar racing season.  Nothing yet for the Cascades.

Could have used that on Friday. Can't wait for the final product.

By the way, are the F59'S having reliability problems? I saw a Union Pacific locomotive coupled ahead of 508's F59 coming home.
