  5:45 p.m.: March starts; Valley Metro halts service

 

 

Valley Metro announced at 5:30 p.m. that, at the request of Phoenix police, it has stopped service in the area of the protest. 

 

Light rail trains are not servicing the stations in downtown Phoenix. Buses will transport passengers between McDowell Road and Central Avenue and 24th Street and Washington streets, according to a tweet from Valley Metro.
