CN Service Update; 9/16/11:

CP INTERCHANGE - ROUSES POINT, NY

- CN's interchange operations with CP at Rouses Point, NY, were suspended for some time. The closure was due to flooding caused by the recent passage of tropical storm Lee through the Northeastern United States.

- CN detoured affected traffic over our interchange point with the Norfolk Southern (NS) at Buffalo, NY. Our special trains ran every other day.

- Normal interchange operations resumed on Friday, September 16th.

NECR INTERCHANGE - EAST ALBURGH, VT

- As a result of the recent passage of hurricane Irene and ensuing numerous washouts as well as damage to a railway bridge, portions of the New England Central Railroad (NECR) line are out of service, most notably between Montpelier, VT, and White River Junction, VT. Portions of the NECR line, in particular the line that separates Essex junction, VT, and Montpelier Junction, VT, (including Burlington, VT), have reopened to rail traffic. The NECR is continuing to investigate detour possibilities with other rail carriers in the area in order to alleviate congestion.

- CN's interchange activities with the NECR at East Alburgh, VT, continue on a limited basis since Wednesday afternoon, August 31st.

- According to current estimates, normal service will resume in early October. We continue to work with CN customers affected by this situation in order to mitigate any impact.
