WMATA news release, 11/15:

Transit Police seek to identify person of interest in carjacking/kidnapping investigation

Metro Transit Police are seeking the public's assistance to identify a person of interest in a carjacking/kidnapping investigation.

At approximately 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, Metro Transit Police were notified of a carjacking/kidnapping incident. The victim reported that a suspect approached her vehicle as she was exiting the Vienna Metrorail Station in Fairfax County, Va., displayed a handgun, entered the vehicle and forced her to drive to several ATMs to withdraw cash. The suspect released the victim at the New Carrollton Metrorail Station and left the scene.

The victim, an adult female, was not injured during the incident.

Metro Transit Police are leading the investigation and are working cooperatively with Prince George's County Police and Fairfax County Police.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the person shown in these photos is asked to call Metro Transit Police immediately at (202) 962-2121 and reference case 2014-57341. Tips can also be sent via text message to MyMTPD (696873). Do not take action other than calling police.

There are no active warrants for the the individual pictured at this time.

Police arrest man wanted in carjacking, abduction near Vienna Metro  

WASHINGTON -- Police arrested a man wanted in connection with an armed carjacking and abduction that occurred earlier this month at the Veinna Metro Station.

 

Metro Transit Police and officers from Baltimore County arrested Darian Robinson shortly after midnight Thursday.

 

On Nov. 12 at about 10:15 p.m., Robinson reportedly approached a woman sitting in her car at the Vienna Metro Station, displayed a gun and forced himself into the car.
