   Metrolink Commuter Train May Be Coming to South Coast  

 

 

Last week members of the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG) met to hear a presentation regarding disruptions to train services during peak hours.

Also applicable to Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, which pre-Covid had an early morning train out of Los Angeles that provided this needed service. Never reinstated.

      New Metrolink commuter rail service from Moorpark to Goleta presented Wednesday  

 

 

South Coast members of the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments met Wednesday to affirm efforts to bring Metrolink's commuter train service to the county.

 

Update

 

So given the timetable displayed in the story, while it seems strange that this train would only do one morning round trip, its purpose is to fill gaps before or in between Pacific Surfliner trips.      As Metrolink would be its operator, it is a logical extension of existing Ventura County Line service beyond Moorpark and East Ventura.
