MARC service alert 10/11/18:

MARC Inclement Weather Advisory - All Lines

A flash flood watch (Which will most likely will be upgraded to a flash flood warnings) has been issued by the National Weather Service from 02:00 pm today until 06:00 am Friday morning.  We are expecting to see higher than average rain and wind speeds, with the potential for localized high wind or flash flood warnings to be issued by our host Railroads.

As a reminder, Flash flood watches and warnings require MARC trains to travel at a reduced speed and 10-15 minute delays are possible--the fewer stops a train makes, the more delay it will incur (since express trains operate longer distances at a higher rate of speed).

We will continuously monitor conditions and provide updates as the evening service progresses.  We will also ensure that any watches or warnings established by CSX or Amtrak will be communicated promptly.

We thank your for your understanding and look forward to providing for your safe travels.
