On Sept. 18th (myself & my son-in-laws mother) left Buffalo's small Exchange Street station, on-time, on Train # 284. Train was very clean and attendants were helpful. We arrived at Albany, NY's new station on time, very impressive station. We continued on to NYC ( Note: this was the time of the Tropical Storm that was hitting the East Coast). We were concerned that trains from NYC to DC might be cancelled. We boarded train 85 on time at NYC Penn. Station and headed for DC. On all of the trains down and back , we were in the business class, and well worth it. We were one of the last trains into DC , because of the storm and the station was empty. We got a ride to my daughter's house in Manassas, VA with her husband who was waiting at DC Union Station. Return from Manassas, VA to Buffalo was on Sept. 22nd, travel was back to normal. We left Manassas station on VRE, bought tickets by the station for only $6 to Washington,DC. At Union station we left on train #174, on-time and started our trip to NYC. Nice trip, could see some storm & water damage along the way. Arrived at Penn Station just a couple minutes late. This train had an excellent lounge, , very unique , numbered in the 80000 series & outstanding service in the lounge. Left NYC on time on train # 283 for a very enjoyable trip back to Buffalo, NY, service was good on all our trains, and we arrived at Buffalo, on time, where it was raining, . Over all, a VERY GOOD TRIP. Cathy Tarnish
