Notice of Addendum Regarding 69kV Transmission Line Realignment and Multi-use Bridge and Pathway LightingPLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO APPROPRIATE STAFF, EMPLOYEES, STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERSAddendum Regarding 69kV Transmission Line Realignment and Multi-use Bridge & Pathway LightingIn August 2015, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) completed the extension of its Blue Line service to Cosumnes River College (CRC). This project extended the Blue Line approximately 4.3 miles south and from its former terminus at the Meadowview Station to CRC.The environmental process for the Blue Line extension, also known as the South Sacramento Corridor Phase 2 (SSCP2), was completed in 2008. In 2013, an amendment to the environmental document was approved to relocate Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) 69kV poles west of the Detroit Boulevard neighborhood on land owned by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), Department of Labor (DOL) and a private developer (Stone Boswell). Since the 2013 amendment, RT has identified additional modifications to the SSCP2 project design. This proposed Addendum changes the SMUD utility pole relocations within the CDFA and DOL properties. Also included in this Addendum will be pathway lighting along Cosumnes River Boulevard (CRB) between the Center Parkway and Franklin light rail stations, and west of RT's Franklin light rail station. Both of these items are related to the SSCP2 Project. See the map on the reverse side of this flyer for project locations. More details are provided below:1) Relocation of SMUD 69kV poles out of the Union Pacific Railroad/SSCP2 corridor to an area west of the light rail extension. Since the time the SMUD poles were environmentally cleared in 2013, CDFA and DOL raised concerns about the pole locations within their respective properties. RT is amending the environmental document to move three poles within CDFA properties west of the approved alignment and the southern portion of the DOL poles east to approximately 100' from the Detroit Boulevard neighborhood. Due to the presence of PG&E 230kV poles going east to west within DOL property, the only SMUD poles being moved are those south of the PG&E poles (please see Addendum for more details and exhibits). Those poles north of the PG&E line within DOL property remain unchanged from the 2013-approved location.2) Installation of lighting along the multi-use pedestrian/bike pathway (pathway) including the two bridges along the pathway. As part of the SSCP2 project RT constructed a bike and pedestrian path between the Center Parkway and Franklin light rail stations as well as a pathway from Franklin station to the Deer Lake neighborhood. Pathway lighting was not originally planned for this effort, but has since been identified as needed as part of the SSCP2 project. This lighting will be installed west of the Franklin Station to and across the Deer Lake Pedestrian Bridge and east of Franklin Station to Center Parkway Station adjacent to Union House Creek and across the Valley Green Pedestrian Bridge. The pathway lighting installation would occur over approximately 1.65 miles and include approximately 67 street lamps and associated pull boxes and conduit. The complete Addendum can be viewed online at www.blueline2crc.com and will also be available for public review at the Sam and Bonnie Pannell Community Center (2450 Meadowview Road) and the Valley Hi-North Laguna library (7400 Imagination Pkwy.).For more information or to comment on this addendum, please leave a message on RT's Blue Line to CRC information line at (916) 556-0113 or visit www.blueline2crc.com.Thank you for your patience and support.
