What the above alerts represent are the use of underground express tracks to store trains during and after the storm until things are cleaned up,  Thus express trains run local since their own tracks are for parking only.

Harlem Line Customers
Service Change  Posted: 01/24/2016 10:15PM

For customers traveling southbound to Melrose and Tremont, trains will not stop at these stations. Please get off at Harlem-125th Street Station and take a local Harlem Line train north stopping at Melrose and Tremont stations. Customers wishing to travel southbound from Melrose or Tremont stations should use Fordham station or can take the Bx41 Bus from Fordham to Melrose. NYC Transit will cross-honor Metro-North tickets for the Bx41 during this service change. This service change will be in effect through Monday, January 25, due to third rail power issues as a result of the significant snow accumulations.

Almost all outdoor segments of the MTA New York City Transit subway system, including the Staten Island Railway, have reopened this afternoon, and will be prepared to continue to offer normal service for Monday. The only exceptions is express service on Brighton Beach Line. B trains will run local in Brooklyn between Prospect Park and Brighton Beach. There will be delayed express on corridors where trains were stored underground.

Customers should monitor www.mta.info for the latest information.

All express and local buses resumed service at 7 a.m. Sunday morning, though some faced significant diversions because of local road conditions as snow recovery efforts continue. Service is expected to be normal for the Monday morning rush, but Customers should check www.mta.info to learn of any diversions on their bus routes.

mott_haven.jpg?itok=jzFw0H9N

Metro-North continues to run on a normal weekday schedule for Monday. There may be canceled and combined trains throughout the system as Metro-North continues to clear tracks, switches and yards of snow and ice from this weekend's storm. Customers should continue to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys as snow removal work continues.

Pascack Valley Line and Port Jervis Line customers should visit www.njtransit.com for the latest service information.
