There is no advance plan as to where we might eat during the long weekend.   I'm all for playing it by ear.

For those who will be in town on Friday and taking the Foxboro excursion that afternoon, we would be arriving back at South Station at 5:20 PM; could either eat there or someplace else in downtown Boston.

Saturday lunch:  Aboard the northbound Downeaster.

Saturday dinner:   There is a 2 hour 35 minute layover in Brunswick, ME.  I've suggest a nearby pub -- however my not being into "pub food" but something more filling, I might go on my way to find a pizza place nearby.    Or some might opt to eat dinner later, once we get to Freeport around 6 PM.

Sunday lunch will be early in the day, likely at or in the vicinity of North Station around 11 AM (after arrival of the Downeaster substitute bus).

Sunday dinner:  Once we leave Somerville Union Square on the D Line, the last official Sunday segment together, we can travel anywhere.  Park Street was just put in there as a common transfer point (and it's the transfer point for the Commons!) but for those still together we can once again plan when we are wrapping up our travels.

Breakfast if preferred (for Saturday morning and those still in Boston on Monday) would be at the hotel of your choice. In Freeport we have a very early departure on Sunday morning which would miss the breakfast time.  One can purchase breakfast items aboard the Downeaster.

I was looking at the Pub Menu at:

and it is surprisingly good and appears to have several typical Irish items. I would be leaning towards either the Shepherd's Pie or the Destroyer.

FYI:    Here is a link to the Hub Hall, a relatively new food court area within Boston NORTH Station.   Note that the McDonald's is no longer in the station, but there are many other options available at Hub Hall.   It appears the pizza place opens at 10:30 AM but not sure about the others --- might need to wait until 11 AM and you would still have enough time to eat before we have to board our train to Wachusett.

I also checked the Halftime Pizza across Causeway Street, good for a quicker and cheaper slice of pizza, but unfortunately they appear to be closed on Sundays.

As for SOUTH Station, here are the eateries within the station.
