This is to discuss the trip taken on the California Zephyr, Train #5(14) - leaving Salt Lake City on July 15th and arriving Reno on July 16th.

Another very late train, that we awaited in Salt Lake City and finally boarded around 3:30 in the morning. This train started out OK from Chicago, but lost time across Iowa and Nebraska just like the one we had been on before. Most of us either paid for another hotel night or hung out in a hotel lobby before having a shuttle take us to the station around 2 AM. Once on board, our rooms were conveniently in the sleep position. Many got up with only a couple hours of sleep at best to be at the early breakfast call. We arrived into Reno at 12:23 PM, which with some padding was a rare (for us) under 4 hours late.
