Lake Shore Limited Train 48/448 due to depart Chicago (CHI) on 1/28 is canceled due to the impending storm. Please call 1-800-USA-RAIL for reservation assistance.


And here come the cancellations..... Surely more to come!!

Amtrak Downeaster website:
 

For the safety of our customers and employees, the Amtrak Downeaster will operate a reduced service schedule on Saturday and Sunday due to the major winter storm anticipated to impact New England. Saturday, January 29th Southbound trains 690692 and 694 WILL OPERATE.    Northbound trains 691693 and 695 WILL OPERATE

Trains 696, 697, 698 and 699 are CANCELLED.   Sunday, January 30th Train 690 is CANCELLED. All other trains on Sunday are anticipated to operate.

 
Customers with reservations on trains that are being cancelled will be offered re-accommodation or a refund. Changes to you reservation can be made online at www.Amtrak.com or by phone 1-800-USA-RAIL.

Modified Service Due to Winter Storm

Friday, January 28, 2022


Due to the forecasted weekend winter storm and for the safety of our customers and employees, Amtrak has made the following temporary service adjustments between Friday, January 28 Saturday, January 29:
Friday, January 28:
  • Lakeshore Limited trains 48/448 (operating between Chicago and New York) are cancelled
Saturday, January 29:
  • All Acela Service (operating between Washington, D.C. and Boston) is cancelled
  • All Northeast Regional Service between Boston and New York is cancelled
  • Limited Northeast Regional Service between New York and Washington, D.C. and points south.
  • Lakeshore Limited trains 49/449 (operating between Chicago and New York) are cancelled
  • All Springfield Shuttle service between New Haven and Greenfield, Mass. is cancelled
  • Limited Downeaster Service (operating between Brunswick, Maine to Boston)
  • Limited Empire Service (operating between New York and Albany)
  • Limited Keystone Service will operate between Philadelphia and Harrisburg ONLY
  • Carolinian/Piedmont train 80 (operating between Charlotte and New York) will terminate in Washington, D.C.
  • Palmetto train 90 (operating between New York and Savannah, Ga.) will terminate in Washington, D.C.
     
Customers with reservations on trains that are being modified will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day. Amtrak will waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 1-800-USA-RAIL.
