We've completed yet another big railfest, and our participants are either home or well on their way (or staying a couple extra days in Philly).

Today's activities went as planned, except for our run to Media. Because it took a long time for our pizzas to be served at the restaurant in Drexel Hill, we missed our intended 101 trolley to Media. We took the next outbound car, half an hour later, but we got off at Scenic Road and took the next inbound one, boarding the trolley we should have been on had we gone to Media.

We rode the entire outdoor portions of the 36 and 34 trolleys, changing between them at the 40th Street portal rather than at 30th Street to avoid a tight connection.

This means that between the three major fests in Philadelphia, we have now ridden the entire Market-Frankford Line, Broad Street Subway (including the Broad-Ridge Spur), and all five of the Subway-Surface Lines. As a fest group we have also ridden all of the Regional Rail Lines, with the exception of the following:
  • R6 Cynwyd
  • R6 Norristown beyond Norristown TC to Elm Street
  • R2 Wilmington-Newark beyond Sharon Hill to Newark, DE
  • R3 Media-Elwyn beyond Media to Elwyn
There can always be a "next time" but Cynwyd and Newark will have to be on a weekday.

Thanks to all who traveled to Philadelphia to join us, especially those who made it from California, Ohio, and Massachusetts.

Next up will be Chicago/St. Louis/Dallas in July.
