MARC service alert  11::06 pm 1/28/19:

MARC Train - Full service Tuesday with modifications

MARC Train is closely monitoring the approaching winter weather and will operate full service on Tuesday, January 29.  In light of the Federal Government decision to close two hours early, the following service modifications will take place:

Camden and Penn Lines - Equipment assignments will be modified to provide additional capacity starting with the 12:20pm Penn Line and 3:30pm Camden Line departures from Union Station.

Brunswick Line - Additional capacity will be added to earlier trains.  Train 873 (3:30pm departure from Union Station) will operate through to West Virginia stations and Train 875 (4:25pm departure) will terminate in Brunswick.  Weather permitting, EPTA connecting bus service will be provided for Train 875.  If road conditions are unsafe, the bus will not operate and passengers will have to wait for Train 879.

While we are adding additional capacity to all earlier trains, we cannot replicate rush hour capacity on midday trains (Penn Line) and early afternoon Camden and Brunswick Line trains.  Boarding will be stopped when trains reach a safe capacity.  We ask that you follow the direction of MTA, Amtrak, and Bombardier management at Union Station.  They will be counting passengers as trains are boarded to ensure that trains are not overcrowded.

We thank you for your patience as we work to get you home as quickly and safely as possible.

MARC service alert 1/29/19:

MARC Train - Full service Wednesday

MARC Train will operate full service on all three lines on Wednesday, January 30.  The only service modification is that Brunswick Line Train 880 (7:45am departure from Brunswick) will hold and depart Brunswick and all stations to Washington 90 minutes later than scheduled due to the three hour delay for Federal employees.

We encourage our passengers to follow our safety guidelines for winter weather:

--Allow not only extra time for your commute on MARC, but most importantly, extra time to drive or walk to your station.

--Roads and sidewalks will be very slick. WALK, do not run, from the train to your car or final destination

--We strongly recommend wearing appropriate footwear. Men's dress shoes and women's heels are not conducive to this level of cold and slick conditions.

--Dress in layers and protect all exposed skin. This is especially important in and around your face and head.
