COVID-19 surge, labor shortage impact RTD service
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) of Denver is struggling to provide its regularly scheduled service due to a surge in COVID-19 cases and a shortage of workers.
The operations team’s “people power” is being severely affected by the omicron variant as well as the widespread labor shortage in covering open shifts, said General Manager and CEO Debra Johnson said in a press release.

The Denver Regional Transportation District's (RTD) Service and Cleaning worked with Bus Operations and Maintenance, Light Rail Operations and Maintenance, and Safety Environmental Compliance to switch to a new cleaning solution for revenue vehicles that aims to be more efficienty than the electrostatic sprayers currently in use.

RTD permanently ends C and F light rail
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) said it will permanently discontinue the C and F light rail lines beginning Sunday, Jan. 8.

These were service patterns, not unique lines, so nobody totally loses service. For those who used these lines before, it will require a change of trains along the trunk line where the Southeast and Southwest routes run together. I-25/Broadway is the most common transfer location.
Cross-posting in its own thread as well as in Coronavirus/RTD since the cuts are at least in part a victim of reduced ridership resulting from the pandemic.
