Officers to increase enforcement at railroad crossings after sixth SunRail crash
MAITLAND, Fla. —A driver involved in a SunRail crash Wednesday has been cited for driving over, under, around or through a railroad barricade.
The driver faces a $164 fine.
No one was injured during the crash on Horatio Avenue. Police said the train clipped the back end of a woman's SUV that was partially on the tracks. Passengers said they felt the collision and then saw the SUV flip.
The crash was the sixth involving a SunRail train --- none of which were the train operators' fault, police said.
Starting Monday, officers will ramp up enforcement at railroad crossings throughout the city.
