Hartford Line and Vermonter Service Changes
Effective May 28 - November 1, 2024
Due to infrastructure work being performed, Amtrak's Hartford Line and Vermonter Service will be unavailable during weekdays with alternate transportation provided. The schedules listed on Amtrak.com have been updated to reflect this change.
NorthboundSouthbound
- Train 490 will be canceled in its entirety and replaced by one express bus and one local bus.
- Train 470 will terminate at Hartford, CT.
Effective Dates
- Train 471 and 473 will originate at Hartford, CT.
- Train 425 is a new train and will operate between Greenfield, MA and Springfield, MA to connect with Train 125 at Springfield, MA.
- Train 55 will depart Springfield, MA at 2:46 pm, and depart from New Haven, CT at 4:39 pm.

- June 3 - 7, 10 - 14, 17 - 21, 24 - 28
- July 1 - 3, 5, 8 - 12, 15 - 19, 22 - 26, 29 - 31
- August 1 - 2, 5 - 9, 12 - 16, 19 - 23, 26 - 30
- September 3 - 6, 9 - 13, 16 - 20, 23 - 27, 30
- October 1 - 4, 7 - 11, 14 - 18, 21 - 25, 28 - 31
- November 1
Alternate Transportation to Hartford and New Haven, CT
- Bus 3490 and 3470 will make all local stops.
- Bus 3590 is an express, stopping at State Street, CT, Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA.
- Buses 3471 and 3473 will make all local stops to Hartford, CT.

A pdf timetable is here. Note there are more changes than Amtrak details above, such as which trains will serve Greenfield. It will now be possible to make a weekday afternoon/evening round trip between Springfield and Greenfield on the new 486 and 479.
