The newly appointed project manager of the $1.4 billion commuter rail extension to the Fall River-New Bedford area predicts the project will spark economic development along its route.
“I'm excited to work on this comprehensive study to make this the best rail line for people in the communities in the southeast region,” said Kristina Egan, who was appointed this week by Gov. Deval Patrick to head the South Coast Rail project.
