Man struck and badly injured by train in suspected suicide attempt in Pico Rivera

Looking at the location on a satellite map, the tracks run on a fairly new bridge over Passons Blvd., so the man had to go up to elevated tracks in order to go where he should not have been.

 

It's also remarkable that he managed to be hit by the San Diegan, since that train hasn't run since June 1, 2000, almost a decade and a half. I'd put my money on the Pacific Surfliner.
