The postwar-era dining cars on the Lake Shore Limited that Amtrak inherited from freight railroads in 1971 have been removed from service, an Amtrak spokesman confirmed this week.

Except on our train from Chicago, 48(20), which had a full service diner. Maybe that was its last run?

Oh you were lucky. There are reports from NARP stating that view liner diners may start appearing in late August/September.
