Streetcar possible for Second Street, but would residents use it?

This is news to me.  I did not know Macon had an interest in adding streetcars to its transit mix.  More than seven years ago, Augusta, GA considered such a move, but the plan died of benign neglect.

Well no doubt they are influenced by Atlanta to the north, whose downtown streetcar starts this week, and maybe Savannah to the east, which has a much smaller and infrequent operation in place.
