Cardinal and Hoosier State: New Schedules between Chicago and Indianapolis
Effective May 1, 2017
Trains 50, 51, 850 and 851 will operate according to a new schedule between Chicago and Indianapolis.
Trains 50 and 850: Earlier Departures between Dyer and Crawfordsville
Trains 50 and 850 will depart 11 minutes earlier at all stations from Dyer to Crawfordsville. The trains will depart Dyer at 6:44 pm, Rensselaer at 7:35 pm, Lafayette at 9:46 pm and Crawfordsville at 10:20 pm, arriving at Indianapolis 11 minutes earlier at 11:39 pm. All times shown are local.
Trains 51 and 851: Earlier Arrival at Chicago
Trains 51 and 851 will arrive in Chicago five minutes earlier, at 10 am.
Cardinal and Hoosier State Days of Operation
Train 50 operates three days a week between Chicago and New York, originating in Chicago on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Train 850 operates four days a week between Chicago and Indianapolis, originating in Chicago on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Train 51 operates between New York and Chicago, departing New York on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Train 851 operates between Indianapolis and Chicago, originating in Indianapolis on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

INCORRECT. They are not changing the days of operation of the Cardinal. Train 51 will still leave New York & Washington on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This is backed up by the new 5/1/17 timetable. The Monday-Thursday-Saturday in the above announcement are the days that 51 leaves Indianapolis, which would be one day after the days the train departs from the East Coast.
