Metro to Hold Community Meetings on Pedestrian and Bicycle Corridor in South Los Angeles on January 26

 

Friday January 20, 2017

 

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is inviting the public to participate in two community meetings on Thursday, January 26, to provide their input on Segment A of the Active Transportation Rail to River Corridor Project.

 

Segment A would construct a walking and biking path along an old railroad right-of-way between the Crenshaw/LAX Line’s Fairview Heights Station and Santa Fe Avenue in Huntington Park. The project would make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to reach the Crenshaw/LAX Line, Silver Line, Blue Line, many busy north-south bus lines and neighborhoods and jobs in South Los Angeles.

 

The meetings will take place on Thursday, January 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hubert H. Humphrey Comprehensive Health Center, 5850 S. Main St., Los Angeles, in the second floor auditorium.

 

The meeting will include an overview of the project, proposed design elements and the opportunity to meet project team members, who will be available to answer questions.

 

The second meeting will also be offered as a live webcast beginning at 6:30 p.m. at tinyurl.com/metror2r with the actual meeting and presentations; a meet-and-greet will be held from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

 

All Metro meetings are held in American with Disability Act (ADA) accessible facilities. Other ADA accommodations are available by calling (323) 486-3876 or California Relay Service at 711 at least 72 hours in advance of the meetings.

Metro Invites Public to Rail-to-Rail/River Project Meetings on March 23

Monday March 13, 2017

 

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) invites residents, business owners, stakeholders and the general public to two meetings on March 23 in Huntington Park to discuss segment B of the Rail-to-Rail/River project. 

 

The project will build a walking and bike path in two segments between the future Crenshaw/LAX Line and the Los Angeles River. Segment B is the portion of the route between the Blue Line’s Slauson Station and the river.

 

The meetings will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.at the Oldtimers Housing Development Corp., Ballroom IV, 3355 E. Gage Avenue, Huntington Park, CA 90255. The information provided at both meetings will be the same.

 

The public will have the chance to learn about the preferred route for Segment B and the next steps for the project. There will also be opportunities to ask questions and to meet members of the project team.

Segment A runs along an old railroad right-of-way between the future Fairview Heights Station on the Crenshaw/LAX Line and the Blue Line’s Slauson Station.

 

The project will make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to reach the Crenshaw/LAX Line, Silver Line, Blue Line, busy north-south bus lines and jobs in Inglewood and South Los Angeles. A second segment will eventually connect the path to the Los Angeles River.

 

The meetings will take place on Thursday, June 29 from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hubert H. Humphrey Comprehensive Health Center’s second-floor auditorium, 5850 S. Main St., Los Angeles, 90003.

 

At the meetings, Metro staff will provide an overview of the project and preview what the project will look like and some of the design elements that will be used.
