The Kansas City Streetcar Authority (KCSA) is negotiating with CAF USA Inc. to purchase two additional vehicles to meet ridership demands, The Kansas City Star reported late last week.

Kansas City streetcar director says new vehicles urgently needed

 

The Kansas City streetcar system is closer to buying two more vehicles, and the streetcar chief executive says it can’t happen soon enough.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Council will vote Thursday whether to spend nearly $12 million dollars to buy two new streetcars.

The Kansas City Streetcar Authority (KCSA) late last week received approval from the Kansas City Council to purchase two additional streetcars.

Including spare parts and inspection support, the total price of the units is $11.9 million. The authority will fund the purchase with existing downtown transportation development district funds.
