Pulled into washington at 7:15. Announcement states a 7:30 departure. A bit optimistic IMHO.

I'm not terribly excited about the obs crew. One waitress in the diner was pleasant last night and food was good. Her partner is slow, lazy, and has no personality. He was tipped accordingly at breakfast. The attendant in the 9710 car was curt last night when I wanted the bed put down. He was the same this morning. Not very fast either. No tip here unless he redeems himself by jumpIng off the train between stops. One plus is no luggage in the shower. I was blessed to find the last towel. It was buried behind the garbage bag . We are running on time into Jacksonville. So CSX is doing its job.

It's now 10:30. Did the lazy attendant make the bed yet? If it's not made when I return from the lounge car I'm going to lie in it all day. He can make it after Arrival in Miami.

10:45 am and bed not made. I'm not asking him to either. He's standing around socializing.

Attendant redeemed himself to a degree. I gave him a chance to make the bed by going to lounge car. When I returned at 10:45 it hadn't been done. A few minutes after last post he came by and was sincerely apologetic. Though I didn't say anything I think he knew I was out of patience. He also made sure I had water. The effort at mitigating the annoyance was appreciated. The lsa came by for lunch reservations and I asked for 12. Hr asked me where I was going I said Miami. He asked me to wait until 12:45 so he could serve passengers getting off in Orlando. This makes sense and I can work with it if I am in the diner by 1:00 and can get my first choice.

She didn't. And I fixed the spelling errors.

A new one for me. We just pulled into a siding and are now being overtaken by the star which then stopped and we kept going. So we will beet the star into Miami.
