Daily Times-Chronicle, Woburn, MA, 3/26/24:

MBTA service outages to effect Reading Station starting in late March

Trains on the MBTA Commuter Rail’s Haverhill Line will be suspended between the Reading Depot and Melrose’s Oak Grove Station in late March and on two occasions in April.

It's "affect", not "effect".

MBTA website:

  • Service Change UPCOMING

On 3/30-31, 4/6-7 and between April 20-28, buses will replace train service between Reading & Oak Grove on the Haverhill Line. Trains will make all stops between Haverhill & Ballardvale and stop at Anderson/Woburn on the Lowell Line. MBTA.com/ptc

There will be no service at North Wilmington Station. Passengers may consider boarding Lowell Line trains at Wilmington (1.9 mi away).

At Oak Grove and Malden Center, passengers can make a connection with the Orange Line.

A dedicated diversion schedule will be in effect and is now available online.

Buses will be accessible but bikes will not be allowed on board.

Passengers between Reading and Malden Center can also consider MBTA Bus #137 as an alternate travel option.

Regular weekend train service will operate on March 16-17.

This diversion will allow for ATC implementation work as part of the Commuter Rail Safety and Resiliency Program.

Normal train service on March 16-17.
