Michigan City freight train derailment disrupts South Shore service
MICHIGAN CITY | Westbound South Shore trains began moving on one track through Michigan City around 7:30 a.m. following a freight train derailment there, representatives said.
John Parsons, spokesman for the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District, advised passengers to expect lengthy delays through the morning rush. No schedules or delay estimates were available.
Parsons said the freight train derailment occurred around 5:30 a.m. at U.S. 12 and County Line Road.
