From Michigan Association of Railroad Passengers (MARP), newsletter for June 2012:

In a nutshell, these are the items covered in the newsletter, most of them already posted elsewhere on this board.
  • Jackson, MI is now a stop on the Toledo Thruway bus that connects with the Lake Shore and Capitol Limiteds. The stop is made between Ann Arbor and East Lansing.
  • Battle Creek's intermodal station reopens Tuesday 6/12/12 after major renovations. Temporary platforms east of the regular site will be closed.
  • While 110 mph running between Porter and Kalamazoo went into effect a couple of months ago, its benefits were negated by slow orders imposed by Norfolk Southern between Kalamazoo and Dearborn.
  • MARP's next meeting will be at Muskegon Union Station, 610 W. Western Avenue, on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 10 AM until 12 Noon.
