CAPT Board MeetingJuly 9, 2016Charlotte, NCThe Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will meet in Charlotte, N.C. on Saturday, July 9, 2016.Lunch and the board meeting will be in the guest room of the Queen City Q Restaurant located at 225 East6th Street next to the Lynx Light Rail line. It's next to Brixx Pizza in the 7th Street Station building.Lunch will start around 11:30 am . The meeting will follow after lunch around 1:00 pm, and will adjournaround 3:00 pm.At that time a number of vehicles will take those interested on a tour of the route of the LYNX Blue Linelight rail extension to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The Light Rail project construction is wellunderway with service projected to begin in latter part of 2017 between Uptown and the University. The tourwill be completed in time to transport passengers coming to the meeting via Amtrak back to the train station forthe 5:15 pm departure of the Piedmont.For those arriving by Amtrak, local CAPT members will meet the 10:04 am arrival of the Piedmont fortransport to the restaurant. Also, Charlotte Area Transit bus route 11 picks up passengers at theAmtrak station, and will drop you off at 7th Street which is a short walk to the restaurant. Thosearriving by auto can use the 7th Street Station parking deck.
