Regional panel nixes further study of BART extension along I-80
As it did three decades ago, transit infrastructure planning in West Contra Costa appears to be getting mired in local politics.
The West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee, at its June meeting, voted not to pursue further review of a possible BART extension from El Cerrito Del Norte north to Hercules, even though BART had recently allocated the $125,000 cost to study that alternative as a possible solution to congestion along the Interstate 80 corridor.
