Santa Claus is Comin' to Town on SEPTA!
The SEPTA Santa Express returns for its 27th year to kick-off the holiday season in Center City Philadelphia! Join SEPTA and Center City District for fun-filled holiday train rides and a festive parade as we welcome Santa Claus to Rothman Rink at Dilworth Park. Stay and skate with Santa and shop for gifts at the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market.
The fun begins in Dilworth Park on Friday, November 24th at 10:30am. SEPTA’s trains and stations will be specially decorated for the occasion and helpers will be there to hand out holiday gift bags [look for a special 2017 SEPTA Santa Express pin] and to guide revelers to the fun!
There are eight (8) designated "Santa Express" trains:
Train #9348 departs Media at 10:02am. Arrives at Suburban Station at 10:45am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Train #523 departs Lansdale at 9:52am. Arrives at Suburban Station at 10:46am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Train #823 departs Fox Chase at 10:11am. Arrives at Suburban Station at 10:45am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Train #2327 departs Norristown at 10:01am. Arrives at Suburban Station at 10:42am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Westbound train leaves Frankford Transportation Center at 10:23am. Arrives at 15th Street at 10:47am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Eastbound train leaves 69th Street Transportation Center at 10:28am. Arrives at 15th Street at 10:43am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Northbound train leaves AT&T Station at 10:32am. Arrives at City Hall at 10:43am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Southbound train train leaves Fern Rock at 10:20am. Arrives at City Hall at 10:45am. You can board any stop along the way. Please note regular/weekday fares apply.
Riders will arrive in Dilworth Park just in time for a festive parade that will welcome Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves to the Rothman Rink. Already in Philly? Santa and his elves are due to arrive at Dilworth Park around 10:45am. Besides the trains, other ways to get here on SEPTA include Trolley Routes 10, 11, 13, 34 & 36 [to 15th Street] and Bus Routes 2, 17, 33, 38, 44, 48, 124 or 125. All are invited to stay and skate with Santa Claus. You may even get the chance to tell him your Christmas wishlist. That is, if you can catch him!
Santa is speedy on those skates!
The festivities in Dilworth Park will continue until noon with games, and prizes from More FM, performances from the Walnut Street Theatre, music from the Mummers and more!
Attendees will also have the chance to explore America's Garden Capital Maze. The holiday-inspired Garden Capital Maze is filled with vibrant paintings, topiaries, twinkling lights and decor. The beautiful garden is sure be a great spot for holiday card photos!
