Day 1 of Washington Fest over Options

We had a wonderful time today.


After coming to Washington by various means (ranging from airplanes to Acela to Metroliner to Regional to driving one's own car to a Chinatown-to-Chinatown bus), we managed to assemble and ride trains. We did everything as planned. We met for lunch at Union Station's food court, then rode our VRE round trip and MARC one-way trip to Rockville. We then returned inbound on the Red Line, where we rode to White Flint, and had dinner at the food court at that mall.

Our group began to disperse as some people elected to skip to dinner at White Flint. Bill is on his way home, and Piotr went to a pre-season football game at FedEx Field. We met one new person on the way, who is now a brand new member of OTOL. And Don Weinstein and his daughter Penny joined us for part of the VRE trip, and will meet us again tomorrow for some of our Metro travels.

Stay tuned, because Saturday promises a full day of riding the Metro! I'll report on that tomorrow night.
