Amtrak Service Alert, 3/4 4:06 pm:

Modified Schedule for Amtrak Northeast Corridor on Thursday, March 5

Forecasted winter storm prompts service changes

Amtrak service on the Northeast Corridor will operate on a modified schedule on Thursday, March 5, due to the forecasted winter storm expected to impact the region. While the number of frequencies has been changed, a combination of Acela Express and Northeast Regional service is still planned to operate, with most adjustments between New York City and Washington, D.C.

In addition, Keystone Service between Harrisburg, Pa., and Philadelphia/New York City will operate on a modified schedule.

The full schedule of the Downeaster Service between Brunswick, Maine, and Boston (North Station); Shuttle Service between Springfield, Mass., and New Haven Conn.; and Empire Service between New York City and Buffalo/Niagara Falls is planned.

Passengers with reservations on trains that are being modified will be contacted and accommodated on trains with similar departure times. Anyone planning to travel should check their train status prior to departing, allow extra time to get to the station and be extremely careful in stations and on platforms.

Amtrak regrets any inconvenience. This information is correct as of the above time and date. Information is subject to change as conditions warrant.

Passengers with travel plans can confirm their train's status, change their plans or review refund information using a range of tools – including Amtrak.com, smartphone apps or by calling 800-USA-RAIL. Service Alerts, Passenger Notices and other announcements are posted at Amtrak.com/alerts.
