Metrorail to open at 5 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Metrorail will open two hours early, at 5 a.m., on Saturday, May 7, for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Race participants traveling to the start line should use the following stations:

There are weekend service adjustments scheduled on all lines that may affect your travel on Saturday morning. Please review our advisory for complete details.

Travel Tips

  • Buy in advance. Be sure to load enough fare value on your SmarTrip card for your entire roundtrip.
  • Reminder: Metro no longer accepts paper farecards to enter or exit the system. You can purchase a new SmarTrip card for $2 at any Metrorail station. (If you still have a paper farecard, you can transfer the value to a new SmarTrip card at most Metrorail stations or any Metro sales office. See a station manager for assistance.)

The additional two hours of service is funded through an agreement with event organizers.
