Boston, MA Globe, 6/1/20:

MBTA defends decision to close downtown Boston stations following protests

Shortly after nightfall Sunday, as the clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement in downtown Boston began to intensify, officers ordered those who had gathered at Boston Common to peacefully protest police violence against people of color to “go home.”

The only problem: They were increasingly running out of options.

Boston, MA Business Journal, 6/1/20:

Protesters say T shutdown escalated confrontation with police

(snip)

But when the marchers emptied out into the Boston Common, it was too crowded to get to the State House, and people had few places to go. Then MBTA stops began to close.

June 2:  Protest in Brockton, MA.   Sounds like Middleborough/Lakeville Line is still running but just bypassing the Brockton station.

Suspension

Middleborough/Lakeville Line trains will not stop at Brockton Station until end of service today, Tuesday, June 2. Please utilize Montello and Campello stations.
