Oil trains on the rebound to Northeast refineries, federal data show
After a steady decline throughout 2017, the volume of crude oil moving on trains to Northeast refineries is on the rise, federal data show.

The most recent numbers are still well below the peak of 13.8 million barrels shipped to the Northeast by rail in November 2014. Each barrel contains 42 gallons. An entire unit train of crude oil can carry about 3 million gallons.
