TRI-RAIL SUSPENDS SERVICE AS OF SATURDAY, AUGUST 1, DUE TO HURRICANE ISAIAS
Due to the severe weather conditions anticipated from Hurricane Isaias, Tri-Rail will cease operations beginning Saturday, August 1, until further notice. The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) which operates Tri-Rail, will begin securing crossing gates at the end of train service tonight in anticipation of the storm.
SFRTA makes the decision to remove crossing gates whenever sustained winds of 35 miles per hour are anticipated. The last northbound train of this evening P534 will terminate at the Fort Lauderdale Station in Broward Boulevard, where passengers will be bused to their final destination stations. This will allow for gates to be secured with ample time to secure the corridor.
For additional updates on service, passengers should monitor local news reports, www.tri-rail.com, call 1-800-TRI-RAIL (874-7245) or follow Tri-Rail’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
