The current station location is in a questionable neighborhood, necessitating a city bus ride to get to any of the NF attractions, even on the US side of the border. The novice may think they will alight right near all the action, but alas they don't. Being closer to the Niagara River, and especially the border crossing will make the station on the New York side more attractive a destination.

The usual suspects were on hand for the train station ground breaking. The happy looks on these politicians faces would almost make you think they were spending their own money.

Commentary is sarcastic in tone, but characterizations are lacking in substance.

WBFO Radio, Buffalo, NY, 4/21/16:

Retail sought for new NF Amtrak station

Niagara Falls' new $40 million Amtrak Station is almost complete, but one last piece of the puzzle remains. Falls Business Development Director Anthony Villardo says it is an exciting opportunity for the right business looking to be part of what will be a major new tourism attraction for international travelers.

He said the city also is excited about the possibility of Toronto's Go Train locating in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

They already do run service during the summer months, I believe on weekends only. But there's already service. I suppose it would be newsworthy if service spread to every day and year-round.  Another problem with connectivity is the fact that the non-Maple Leaf Empire Service trains (280-series) leave Niagara Falls fairly early in the morning, probably necessitating a VERY early Toronto departure for GO Train to be able to connect.
