New Orleans, LA Times-Picayune, 5/15/24:
Rampart streetcar line returns years after closing due to deadly Hard Rock Hotel collapse
The Rampart streetcar line is reopening Sunday, years after the collapse of the 18-floor Hard Rock Hotel sparked its closure.
Update
Looking at the new timetable, it's interesting that the Rampart Streetcar will come back with the designation of 46. When it last ran, it was 49. 49 is now used for the Loyola-Riverfront line, which will continue. Thus there will be two services along Loyola, the 49 Loyola-Riverfront and the 46 Rampart-Loyola. The continued through routing of the Riverfront Line up Canal and then over Loyola means that there is still a suspended section of the original 2 Riverfront Line beyond where it turns up Canal by Harrah's Casino.
