All Aboard Florida taps Archer Western for rail infrastructure improvements

 

Privately funded passenger-rail venture All Aboard Florida (AAF) recently selected Archer Western to perform various infrastructure improvements on the Henry Flagler corridor, where AAF's trains would run.

All Aboard Florida chooses SunRail contractor to upgrade tracks

 

All Aboard Florida has selected Archer Western, the same contractor that built SunRail tracks in Orlando, for construction on its 66-mile rail corridor between Miami and West Palm Beach.

All Aboard Florida
Rocla plant, manufacturer of railroad ties, ready to open in Fort Pierce
 

FORT PIERCE — Construction is completed at the plant that will supply railroad ties for All Aboard Florida's Brightline train service.

 

Rocla Concrete Tie plant, 600 S. Third St., will have its grand opening 10 a.m. Wednesday.

 

Starting at 11 a.m., the public can tour the 16,280-square-foot facility, where ties will be built for the $3.1 billion high-speed passenger railroad that would run between Miami and Orlando.

The plant, which would be the first financial benefit the rail project provides to the Treasure Coast, would employ 42 full-time workers,  .  .  .

New plant now making railroad cross ties in Fort Pierce

 

FORT PIERCE — More than 60 people Wednesday attended opening of the Rocla Concrete Tie plant that will manufacture cross ties for All Aboard Florida's $3.1 billion Brightline high-speed passenger-train service.

 

Rocla, of Lakewood, Colorado, is leasing 7 acres at 600 S. Third St. from Florida East Coast Railway, a sister company of All Aboard Florida.

All Aboard Florida receives FRA OK for engineering plans

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has approved All Aboard Florida's (AAF) final engineering plans for its "Brightline" intercity passenger-rail service in Brevard and Indian River counties, the railroad announced yesterday.

 

The FRA said the plans submitted by AAF comply with grade-crossing mitigation requirements. The news marks a "significant step" toward the $3 billion project, AAF officials said in a press release.
