MARC Service Alert 6:03 pm 9/12/18:

Updated:  MARC Hurricane Florence Preparations - Thursday

MARC continues to closely monitor the progression of Hurricane Florence as it approaches the Carolinas.  At this time, MARC Train will run a full service schedule on Thursday September 13th.  Delays are expected to trains when arriving and departing Union Station due to anticipated congestion in the terminal as a result of expected Amtrak and VRE cancellations of southbound trains.

Decisions regarding a reduction or curtailment of MARC Train Service on Friday will be made Thursday once a more accurate forecast of the potential impact on the area becomes available.   MARC is working in conjunction with local, state, and federal agencies as well as our host railroads to determine the safest course of action based on the potential effect on infrastructure throughout the region.

Please stay tuned to the MARC Train Advisories webpage in the coming days for further information.
