From Tri-Rail's website:
NO TRI-RAIL SERVICE DISRUPTIONS ANTICIPATED
DUE TO HURRICANE JEANNE
At this time, it is anticipated that Tri-Rail will operate on a normal Saturday schedule on September 25. In a 2 p.m. conference call, it was determined that the latest storm track did not indicate that South Florida would experience a high enough level of sustained winds to warrant securing the crossing protection gates and suspending service.
Palm Tran is limiting all service tomorrow to life-sustaining medical necessities and evacuations, so there will be no connecting bus service in Palm Beach County.
If the path of the storm changes and sustained winds in excess of 35 mph are predicted, CSXT may begin to secure the railroad crossing gates. Once this process begins, service will be disrupted. Passengers are encouraged to monitor the local news, Tri-Rail website at http://www.tri-rail.com/ , VIP messages or call (800) TRI-RAIL (874-7245) for updates throughout the weekend.
